Sandwiched between pleasure and happiness

I really adore the song of Nancy Sinatra which opens as "Strawberries cherries an angel's kiss in spring/ my summer wine is really made from all these things." It doesn't remind me of the seasonal fruits that is mentioned but it transposes me to the fulfilled and matured wonderland where the nature is conspiring with the mellow sun. Wish-fulfillment is always dear to the aching heart and we try to crave a utopia where wishes and aspirations will see the day of light. At the risk of sounding clichéd life has more than its share of troubles and tribulations. I t doesn't come as a wonder to still try to mark the isotopes of the simple hankerings and yearnings that lurks from wherever possible. Such is the stuff that dreams are made of.
This reminds me of about the story of three sisters in my hometown. The middle one always had high aspiration and a big dream. Being way high smarter than the other two girls she knew what she should do to get whatever she and her family want. Packed her bags and dived into fashion industry where she claimed a good footing and enjoyed fame in varying proportions. She infact became a topic of favorite and animated discussion in my little hometown where youngsters thought it was really cool about her to follow her instincts and pursue the dreams. You think the family didn`t flaunt their happiness and pride? All the members were too glad to get the instant comfort that this girl has fetched in. Happiness… what a wonderful word! The younger sister was my brother`s classmate. One winter afternoon I heard her yelling my name at the extent of bursting her vocal chords. Hurriedly I went to the portico before any mishap happened to her. Her eyes gleamed and her voice too heavy with fine emotions invited me to her house. I said that I`ll come in the evening but had to surrender before her childlike constant persuasion. She pulled my arm and put a little box on my lap. Sign language is what she took recourse to instructing me to open the box. I found a gold pendant necklace literally blinding me. Surprisingly there was an empty stand and I got puzzled. This girl asked me to look at her ears and there it was! An exquisite pair of black diamond earrings- one she was wearing and the other in her hand twinkling.
Later on I was informed that the famous and rich sister has sent down the gifts for them. It unfurled battery of elation and resplendent glory for the whole household. The elder one had the engagement ceremony scheduled the following evening. No wonder the alluring jewellery made her shine to the optimum.
